Fetch Brewing Co.
A warm summers night, a group of friends or an intimate table for 2, enjoying a mug of fresh made, cold brew while you watch the world go by…. Welcome to Fetch Brewing Co, Whitehall, Michigan.
Fetch Brewery, located just 2 blocks North of the Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast, was a hit the minute Dan and Jen Hain opened their doors on September 29, 2014. It was almost instantly filled with eager patrons ready to taste the collection of new brews. Located in the historic State Bank building on the corner of Colby and Mears in Whitehall, it serves as the newest anchor in this walkable downtown community. The State Bank building has a long rich history: built in 1912, the same year as the Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast. Hardy Esterdahl, who was the head teller and State bank examiner also built the house, which is now the Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast, for his new bride Madge Perkins. Both properties benefited from years of hard work, dedication and vision by their current owners to turn them back into spectacular examples of splendor in 1912 architecture.
So what do you do when you don’t want to work for “the man” any more? Open a brewery.
With names on tap like Tree Stump Stout, Smolder and Holiday Crumbs you know you are in store for some very creative flavor combinations. Dan is not your average beer-meister!
Tree Stump Stout is brewed with coffee and cacao nibs, lending a hint of chocolate to the taste, this stout has already gained a loyal following. Smolder is a chocolate, smoked chipotle porter. Smokey, chocolatey, and slightly spicy porter aged with dried chipotle peppers and cacao nibs. Think “chocolate covered bacon with a kick.” Holiday Crumbs is a delicious spiced brew with cinnamon, ginger and all-spice; Holiday Crumbs is your leftover dessert. Because, sometimes it’s better after everybody has left for the holidays. Ahhhh. A career in the laboratory and home brewing for 20+ years, this guy has a knack for combining stuff together.
Speaking of combining great stuff together… Although snacks are available, Fetch encourages it’s patrons to bring their own grub. Guests of the Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast can arrange a picnic lunch or dinner basket and enjoy the best of both!
